A touch of refinement

A radiator makeover in a charming farmhouse

Rustic charm with a modern twist

The moment you step into the bedroom of this beautifully renovated farmhouse, you can feel it: this space radiates tranquillity. The wooden beams, soft carpet and charming little shutters create the perfect dreamy setting. It’s a room where you want to start and end the day slowly: a space that feels like home. And the radiators, once present and prominent, now subtly fade away thanks to our radiator covers in a soft grey tone.

A soft frame around a characterful window

Next to the large window — the true eye-catcher of the room — the radiators were just a little too distracting from the beautiful elements in the space. By neatly hiding the radiators in the same shade as the wall using radiator cover The Original in Solid design, the characterful features of the room stand out even more. The result? A calm and harmonious whole, where your eyes are drawn not to the radiators, but to the beautiful windows.

The chosen colour (RAL 7047 Tele Grey 4) allows the cover to beautifully blend with the natural daylight streaming in through the shutters. The space feels softer and more serene: a dreamy room where you wake up refreshed with a view of the stunning garden.

Before & after: a subtle transformation

The change may be subtle, but that’s exactly what makes it so powerful! By cladding the radiators in a colour that matches the wall, the room feels more balanced and cohesive. The white radiators disappear, allowing the space to speak and the details to shine.

Grey is never just grey
How do you choose the right grey for your radiator cover?

Grey isn’t a colour you choose lightly: one grey exudes calm, while another adds contrast and character. A common question is: how do you choose the right grey for your radiator cover? Grey is versatile, but its effect depends strongly on its undertone. A good tip: always consider the natural light in the room. Cool daylight (north-facing) calls for a warmer grey. Warm daylight (south-facing) can be balanced with a cooler tone. Here’s a selection of popular greys:

RAL 7035, Light Grey: a bright and light shade of grey with a subtle cool undertone. Works beautifully with white and light wood.

RAL 7036, Platinum Grey: a warm grey with a hint of purple. Pairs well with beige and warm wood tones, and stands out a bit more.

RAL 7040, Window Grey: cool and fresh, perfect for modern interiors with black or white as a base.

RAL 7047, Tele Grey 4 (chosen colour): light, airy and neutral. Effortlessly ties warm and cool elements together.

Why RAL 7047 is the perfect fit

In this bedroom, we’ve opted for RAL 7047 Tele Grey 4: and for good reason. It’s a soft, light grey with a cool undertone that never feels cold. Combined with the warm wood beams and soft natural carpet, it creates a well-balanced mix of calm and character. This colour does exactly what you want it to: RAL 7047 brings harmony without drawing attention.
